# How to record your first sale

Start a session, add products by name or barcode, choose the order type and payment method, and print the invoice. Your first sale, step by step.

## Steps

1.  **Start a session.** Choose “Start session” from the side menu. You can't sell without an open session, because it gathers each cashier's sales and payments in one place.
2.  **Open a new order.** Choose “New Order” from the Dashboard or from Sales → Orders.
3.  **Add products.** Search by name or barcode. Choose the size or type, add modifiers (such as an extra shot or almond milk), and set the quantity.
4.  **Choose the order type.** Dine In, Takeaway, Pickup, Delivery or Talabat. For Delivery, add the customer and their address.
5.  **Apply a discount or promo code** if needed.
6.  **Take payment.** Choose Cash, Credit card or Transfer and enter the “Amount paid”. Alcashier shows the “Change” or the “Remaining” amount.
7.  **Complete the order and print.** Confirm the order, then choose “Print invoice”.

## Tip

A customer can pay part now and the rest later: use “Collect Payment” on the order. Cancelling an order needs the admin PIN.
